Recipients

There were 3 groups nominated for the 2010 recipient all accepted by the Committee.
This meant that there was to be a meeting held for members to select the 2010 recipient as per our procedures. The meeting took place at the Whitwell Community Centre on FRIDAY 18TH SEPTEMBER.

All members were invited to attend to cast their vote. Qualifying members being:
2009 WALKERS
2009 REGISTERED SUPPORT TEAM MEMBERS (this does not include raynet or St John personnel).
2009 BONUS BALL MEMBERS (members on the day the walk took place - 20th June 2009).

The 3 groups were invited to attend the meeting and perform a presentation to outline why we should select them. All members were reminded that you have to be at the meeting to vote - NO VOTES BY PROXY - YOU HAVE TO BE THERE.

The nominated groups were | FAIRPLAY | St John Ambulance | National Autistic Society.

After 3 excellent presentations in front of a excellent turnout, the following group was selected as the 2010 recipient:

I would like to thank all 3 groups for their time and effort and offer sincere apologies to the 2 runners up. It is difficult and their efforts were appreciated. However, we can only select one group so I hope they don't feel too disapointed. Remember, there is always next year. This bloody walk does not seem to be going away.......if anything, it's getting bigger!
